Dog in Hotel

How to Travel With Your Dog: Australia's Dog-Friendly Luxury Hotels

Our dogs are our babies and as such, we want them to experience life with us. When we holiday, we want our Facebook plastered with images of our cheeky cavoodle grinning up at us on the beach in North Queensland, or our spoilt sauso lazing in the 1500 TC hotel sheets.

At ST ARGO HQ, we have done the research for you to ensure you can take your puppy on holidays with you, 5 star.

We have compiled a list of our pick of luxury hotels across the country, that not only accommodate our doggy-vacay desires, but encourage them!

Victoria

1. Zagame's House ~ Carlton (4 Star)

New GM, who dis? Newly appointed GM (and avid dog lover), Adam Taloni, has just announced the boutique hotel (which is located conveniently on Lygon Street) is completely fur-friendly.

Dogs, sloths, unicorns and quokkas are all welcome. The in-room dog service includes a 'treat-yo-fur-baby' menu, free 'furry movie of the month' and exclusive access to dog-walking and grooming services. It is important to note that all dogs are required to be on lead, so why not try out our peach lead?

The Cost: $140 extra per stay

2. Ovolo Hotel (Laneways) ~ Melbourne CBD (4 Star)

Looking for V.I.P treatment for your pooch? Look no further. OVOLO has just announced that ALL hotels across Australia and Hong Kong are dog-friendly. This means your pup can stay with you in complete 5-star luxury. All pet-friendly rooms are complete with a super-plush dog bed, dog bowls and a designer 'doggy bag' with treatos, toys and poop bags.

The Cost: $80 extra per stay.

New South Wales

3. The Langham ~ Sydney CBD (5 Star)

There's something outrageously decadent about checking in to The Langham Sydney, with dog on toe. There's something even more outrageously decadent about having a pooch-specific turn-down service where your spoilt little fur baby is brought a plush pink velvet bed and midnight snacks and Langham pink bowls. Take your dog in our LOLA carrier if you are really looking to make a statement.

Who's kidding, we're sold.

The Cost: $120 extra per stay.

4. Marriott Pier One ~ Walsh Bay (Right under the Harbour Bridge!) (4 Star)

Treat your doggo to the stunning views of the Sydney Harbour from the comfort of your hotel room. Can you dine with your pup? Yep. Can you grab a drink at the bar with your pup? Yep. Luxury bedding and bar snacks for your pup? Duh... What should your dog wear during the stay? Try our lilac harness.

The Cost: $90 extra per stay.

Marriott Pier One

5. The Hughenden ~ Woollahra (4 Star)

This boutique hotel really embraces the dog lifestyle. High Tea Dog Events, Pet-Friendly dining, Doggie Day Spa and Dog walking services are all available.

What's the best part? The stunning Centennial Parklands are just a few steps away. The neutral taupe dog collar is our pick for this stay.

Queensland

6. The W ~ Brisbane CBD (5 Star)

'Meet me at the W' says your Frenchie after a leisurely stroll through South Bank.

The W is a brand new hotel. It's very pet inclusive and very damn cool. This is the kind of place you need to go all out for, try our collar walk set in sage to really make an entrance.

The Cost: $50 extra per stay + one-off $150 cleaning fee.

The W

8. Sarayi ~ Palm Cove (4 Star)

What.a.find. There are plenty of beautiful resort in far north Queensland, but Sarayi is just about the only one which offers luxury and dog-friendly facilities.

We don't need to sell you on the location (walk 5 steps and you've got your feet in the Pacific) and when you see the hotel we won't need to sell you on that either.

What we will say is this: Sarayi hotel doesn't just accept dogs on premises, they encourage it.

The Cost: FREE

9. Hilton ~ Adelaide CBD (5 Star)

It's the HILTON, need we say more? The latest walk essentials are a must during your stay, for those early morning cuddles with your doggo.

The Cost: $500 hold on credit card refundable if no damage is done or cleaning needed. Pups under 35kg only.

The Hilton Adelaide

ACT

10. Ovolo Nishi ~ New Acton Precinct (5 Star)

Another one in the Ovolo chain. We love this hotel because it is deeply sophisticated. The kind of place where you want to showcase the entire peach harness set.

We should also add it is super on-trend, being the only HOTEL in the nation's capital that is pet-friendly. Not sure how to travel with your dog to the hotel, check out our how-to guide on taking your dog everywhere.

The Cost: Varies
